Packnick tops for Shelton

The Shelton High boys cross country team placed 19th in the Class LL championships at Wickham Park in Manchester on Saturday.
Kyle Packnick placed 81st in 17:45 to lead the Gaels (507) in the event won by Fairfield Prep (81), followed by FCIAC champion Danbury (113) and Xavier-Middletown (150).
Esteban Torres was 97th in 17:57, Kyle Bederman was 101st in 18:03, Jacob Mabee 113th in 18:16 and Joe Edelstein 115th in 18:17.
The Shelton High girls team was 18th, led by Tiffany Kaelin’s 97th-place finish in 22:42. Kelly Messemer was 99th (22:47), Emily McNeil 104th (22:56), Shannon Langdon 107th (22:58) and Casey Douglas 108th (23:04).
