State playoff point rankings

In Class LL, Xavier High of Middletown, the state’s top-ranked team, maintains its hold on the No. 1 seed with a point average of 137.14.


Conard High of West Hartford (132.86), Staples High of Westport (130), Glastonbury (111.43) and Norwalk (110) round out the top five.

Newtown High (108.57), Hall High of West Hartford (108.56) and Pomperaug High (108.57) complete the top eight, which qualify for the state tournament, followed closely by Hartford Public (105.71) and Norwich Free Academy (103.33).

Shelton High is 14th, heading into its matchup with Fairfield Prep on Friday.

Windsor High is currently the top seed in Class L, carrying a point average of 144.29.

Daniel Hand of Madison (141.43), New Canaan (130), Coventry/Windham Tech (120), Masuk High of Monroe (117.14), Bunnell High (114.29), New London (111.67) and North Haven (110) hold down spots 2-8.

In Class M, Ansonia High is tops with an average of 141.43.

Ellington/Somers (118.57), Wolcott (111.43), Waterford (110), Berlin (108.57), Cheney Tech (108.57), Ledyard (108.33) and Stonington (100) finish out the top eight.

Capital Prep/Classical Magnet is currently seeded No. 1 in Class S, with an average of 140.

Valley Regional/Old Lyme (126.67), Holy Cross High of Waterbury (121.43), Northwest Catholic (117.14), North Branford (113.33), Cromwell (105.71), Coginchaug (103.33) and Bloomfield (98.57) complete the top eight.

Weston, Prince Tech and Seymour are right behind Bloomfield and challenging for a spot in the postseason.
