Ryan Daiss threw a five-hitter and Ryan Zahornasky and Marcelo Urisin paced the offense with three hits apiece, as the Shelton High baseball team beat Notre Dame of West Haven, 7-3, at Quigley Stadium on Wednesday afternoon.

Shelton High boys volleyball captain Justin Letendre mirrors his team — if they’re smiling, and they usually are, he’s smiling — if they’re battling for points, he’s battling for points.

Team unity and the ability to fight back have been trademarks of the Gaels, a unit that has only won once this year and it came in the season’s opener, a 3-2 triumph over Danbury.

Bryan Kondor, Ryan Daiss and Ed Groth each had two hits apiece, powering the Shelton High baseball team to a 10-3 victory over visiting Lyman Hall on Friday night in a Southern Connecticut Conference Housatonic Division matchup.
