Students at Elizabeth Shelton Elementary School help plant trees in front of the school. A crab apple tree, redwood and Norway spruce were donated by Fairview Tree Farm, which helped with the planting. The planting is part of an effort by Margaret McGrath, to plant more trees on school grounds.

Margaret McGrath wants to bring more trees to the grounds of Shelton schools, and she started doing that on Arbor Day.

Last week, McGrath helped plant six trees at Elizabeth Shelton School. She will be there as six donated trees from local nurseries are planted.

She became interested in bringing trees to the schools after discovering the Memory Trees organization.
