Zigmont J. Evenski

Zigmont J. Evenski, 96, of Seymour, husband of 60 Years to Gladys (Swirski) Evenski, died Feb. 10, at home, with his family by his side. His brother, Edward Evenski lives in Shelton.


Son of the late Chester F. and Bertha (Ciesinski) Evenski, he was born July 10, 1915 in Waterbury.

Mr. Evenski was retired from the Metropolitan Life Insurance Co. He was a World War II U.S. Army veteran. He was a member of the Emil Senger, Post 10, American Legion, Seymour, and the V.F.W.

Mr. Evenski was a communicant of the Church of the Good Shepherd, and the Aurora Council Knights of Columbus. He was a member and past president of the Seymour Lions Club. He also served on the reunion committee for the Seymour High School Class of 1933.

Besides his wife, survivors include two sons, Mark M. Evenski of Seymour, and John M. Evenski (Cindy) of Naugatuck; a daughter, Maureen E. Adamczyk of Bethany; a brother, Edward Evenski of Shelton; four grandchildren, Victoria and Michael Adamczyk, and Molly and Rebecca Evenski and several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his sister, Jeanette E. Hoffert.

Services are Monday, Feb. 13, 10:15 a.m., Ralph E. Hull Funeral Home, 161 W. Church St., Seymour, and at 11 a.m. in Good Shepherd Church, 135 Mountain Road, Seymour. Burial will be in St. James Cemetery, Naugatuck. Visiting hours, Sunday, Feb. 12, 4-8 p.m., at the funeral home.
