Elsa Nyden, 94, of Shelton, formerly of Bridgeport and co-owner of The Nyden Dept. Store, wife of the late Charles Nyden, died Feb. 7.
Daughter of the late Nathan Michael Tamsky and Goldie Tamsky, she was born May 13, 1917 in New Haven.
Survivors include three sons, David Nyden of Shelton, Marc Nyden of Germantown, Maryland and Ian “Jeff” Nyden of Vienna Virginia; her brother, Joseph Tamsky of Cape Cod, Mass.; grandchildren, Hollis Nyden, Melissa McCarthy, Rachel Gassert, Michelle Nyden, Joshua Nyden and Alex Nyden, and great-grandchild, McKenzie McCarthy.
She also was predeceased by her two brothers, Herman and Evon Tamsky.
Graveside services will be held Thursday, Feb. 9, 11 a.m., at The Workman’s Circle Cemetery, Reid Street, Fairfield. Jenkins King & Malerba Funeral Home, 12 Franklin St., Ansonia, handled arrangements.
