The Women's Business Development Council (WBDC) has relocated to Shelton and expanded due to an increased demand for services.
The office has recently relocated to 2 Enterprise Drive, Suite 303. WBDC first came to Shelton five years ago to provide entrepreneurial training, financial education, and professional development. They have continued to help women and men throughout the state grow their businesses and advance their careers.
Panache celebrates 25 years

Panache Hair Design recently celebrated 25 years in business.
The hair salon opened on Howe Avenue in Shelton in 1986 by two sisters, Jen Mastrony and Diana Cirillo, along with two employees.
Twenty years later, Panache Hair Design moved to its current location at 504 Bridgeport Avenue in Shelton. Offering the finest in hair care, air brush makeup and eyelash extensions, they now have a newer and larger salon with 12 employees.

M SPA and Skin Care located at 515 Bridgeport Avenue celebrated its grand opening in March. Owner, Maggie Lipinski and her two daughters, who a Shelton students welcomed the Greater Valley Chamber and city officials to the ribbon cutting. Lipinski started her career working for the International Gemological Institute in New York City appraising diamonds and later enrolled at the Institute of Aesthetics and Scientists in Southbury and earned a diploma in Aesthetics and in the French line, Yonka. Children get in touch with their inner artist at local studio

Children pointed out their personal artwork at The Giggling Pig art gallery and children's studio at 95 Center Street. Owner Hannah Perry displayed all artwork created by her students after they were asked to make their own version of a cupcake. All pictures were awarded a prize under a series of categories: best plate, best in show, best decorated, most detail, most interesting, best icing, most delicious, best shading, best candle, biggest cupcake, best colored pencil, best sprinkles, best colors, fluffiest, and best background.
