Bleachers were full with fans wearing pink as Shelton High Schools’ basketball teams ran onto the court Feb. 3.

Team members, coaches, and fans were all asked to put on their pink apparel to raise breast cancer support during Coaches v. Cancer Pink Game double header. Showcasing both the boys and girls teams, this game brought in many eager fans.

“I think that more people came to this game because it was both teams in one, and all proceeds are being donated,” Lauren McCone senior basketball player said.

Selling homemade snacks along with beverages, special fund-raisers and tickets, Shelton High raised a total of $762.

The teams sponsored a “suits and sneakers” for school staff. For a $3 donation staff wore sneakers with their attire during the school day.

The boys celebrated a win while the girls lost their game, but both teams celebrated money raised for a good cause.
