The boys' and girls' basketball teams at Shelton High School are holding a Coaches v. Cancer Pink Game double header against Sheehan High School in Wallingford on Friday, Feb. 3. The event is part of the school's efforts to raise money for the American Cancer Society.
The girls' varsity team plays at 5 p.m.; while the boys' varsity team plays at 7. There will be a raffle at the boys game, and a baked goods sale will take place during the girls' game, with proceeds benefiting the American Cancer Society.
Also, a "sneakers and suits" fund-raiser, in which faculty can pay $3 to wear sneakers with their dress clothes to school, will be held during school the day of the game. The basketball teams have also been selling cut-outs for $1 at their games to make a wall of hope at Friday's game. Any leftover cut outs will be sold at the game. All proceeds will be donated to the American Cancer Society.
