Golf tournament benefits Wounded Warrior Project

A golf tournament to benefit the Wounded Warrior Project will be held Tuesday, June 5, at the Mill River Country Club.

The Wounded Warrior Project provides support and services to severely injured soldiers and their families.

The cost is $165 per player and includes lunch, 18 holes of golf with cart and buffet dinner. There is also a one-hour cash bar after golf.

Registration and lunch begin at 11 a.m., followed by golf at 1 p.m

The Huntington Congregational Church holds a Treasures, Talents and Tastes Auction, 6-9 p.m. Registration fee is $10 and includes hors d'oeuvres, dessert, three tickets for a bag auction. The first annual Shepherd’s Spring Festival, sponsored by the Church of the Good Shepherd, will be held in the church parking lot at 182 Coram Ave. from 10 to 4 p.m., rain or shine. ‘The Debt’ shown at congregation

Congregation B'nai Torah, 5700 Main Street, Trumbull, will present the film The Debt on Tuesday, May 8, at 7:30 p.m.

This drama was filmed on location in Tel Aviv, the United Kingdom and Budapest, and depicts a conflicted trio of ex-Mossad secret agents as they carry debt from a past mission hunting down a wanted Nazi war criminal.

Directed by John Madden, the cast includes Helen Mirren, Sam Worthington and Jessica Chastain. Cost is $5 per person, and it includes refreshments. Housatonic hosts forum for veterans

Housatonic Community College will hold a forum that will introduce veterans to a variety of beneficial public and private resources in the Beacon Hall Events Center on Thursday, May 10, from 5 to 8 p.m.

As part of the VetsLink Connecticut Speakers Series, the forum will provide veterans and their families with information about resources such as affordable housing, jobs, health care, education, and small business start-ups.
